Right in the heart of Khumbu region of Nepal Starbucks Coffee operates in the small Sherpa town of  Lukla.

This place is for guest trekkers (outside visitors) who missed home and want to get in touch. So $4 for coffee and free access to internet in far away place is not a bad deal.

Not a bad job by any means.

Speaking of International franchises, I just heard that Pizza Hut and KFC are opening their new outlets in Durbar Marg.

Only a matter of time before Kathmanduites are caught "hanging out" in Pizza Hut and KFC.

this is not the international chain "starbucks" that we know aajo. if you look carefully, the pic inside the logo has mountain in this one and the other has some kind of female.

i do not see starbucks opening one in nepal soon. too much uncertainty. all starbucks are company owned and they do not franchise. they carefully select locations throughout the world and they do not even have a plan to open in nepal as per their international developmental plan. in the mean time, they are busy competing with McDonalds for the market Statbucks lost due to the introduction of McCafe
